Morpurgo, Rachel

(1790-1871)
   Italian Hebrew poet. She was born in Trieste. Her poetry, which shows the influence of Samuel David Luzzatto, describes autobiographical and family incidents. Written in the style of Spanish and Italian Hebrew religious poetry, it depicts Jewish historical values and traditions.
